Please join us in giving Elyssa Ronda a whole-hearted welcome to the Motivate team. She joins us for the next 3 months as an Occupational Therapy Doctoral student.  Elyssa graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelors in Biological Sciences. She is now a 3rd year occupational therapy doctoral student from West Coast University in Los Angeles, California. She is currently completing her final capstone project for her doctoral degree at Motivate to expand on her vast interest in pelvic health! Her past clinical experience includes providing occupation-based mental health services for homeless women in LA’s downtown skid row and outpatient hand therapy and lymphedema treatment in rural New Mexico. She has taken two courses in pelvic floor muscle evaluation and treatment and plans to continue learning through Herman & Wallace’s continuing education courses for pelvic rehabilitation.

What Do You Like Best About Interning for Motivate? The Interprofessional collaboration of health care providers and the holistic client-centered care staff provide to their patients.

What Do You Like To Do In Your Spare Time? In her spare time, Elyssa likes to hike, fish, paint, play card games like solitaire, complete sudokus, and spend time with family and friends. Prior to COVID-19, she enjoyed traveling the country, discovering new restaurants, and camping at national parks.

We love the inspiring, endless energy that students inject into the Motivate air, we hope that you do to. As Motivate improves, so do you. We have so many wonderful programs and plans in the works, Elyssa will help contribute to it. Collaboration is such a wonderful thing because we all learn and grow together.
