It’s December, and let’s face it, the last thing we want to take time for this month is ourselves
But, it can be the best thing we do for ourselves and our family. End of the year can be overwhelmingly stressful. Why not just take a tip from mama bear and hibernate?
While hibernation may not be an option, being mindful is a way we can take a step back from the business of the season and take a moment for ourselves. Just one moment to tune into your mind or body to be aware of how you are feeling physically and/or mentally.
What did you do for yourself today?
Anything? Or was it just another day going through the motions just to make it to the end of the day? Try taking a moment or two for yourself the next couple of days and see how that changes your mindset. Sit quietly in a calming space, even if the only free space is the bathroom, and focus on how you are feeling. What is your breath doing? Be mindful of if you are breathing into your chest or your belly? Try to focus on your breath equally going into your chest and belly and allow your ribs to expand out to the side.
Count 3-5 seconds in and 5-7 seconds out.
