Happy August everyone! Gastroparesis is a disease in which the stomach cannot empty properly or in a timely manner. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, or feeling full or pressure/bloating. And, as is true for most gut issues, it absolutely affects ones’ quality of life. The pelvic floor muscles are part of the entire container that makes up your core. Your core muscles also include your neck and throat, as well as your abdomen, back and side muscles. Through the fascial system, your core muscles are connected to, and affected by, your abdominal and pelvic organs-like your stomach. Abnormal pressure anywhere in the system will affect your posture and therefore the ability for your core muscles to contract and relax in an optimal way. The diaphragm regulates the pressure. So, breathing through symptoms such as pressure and nausea can help one manage symptoms of this condition.
Just Breathe. You got this. We are here. We can help.
