Postural awareness and correction are the best way to fix and prevent neck pain. Your ear should be in alignment with your shoulder so gently keep your head pulled back without straining. Try not to slouch and sit upright on your “sits” bones (ischial tuberosities). Use a small pillow or rolled towel behind your low back and be sure your feet rest flatly on the ground. Your hips and knees should be at 90 degrees so use a foot stool if needed. Also, try to keep your work surface close to your body so you don’t have to reach forward for prolonged periods of time. Most importantly, listen to your neck and back when it talks to you; move, re-adjust, breathe, your neck will thank you.
